In 79 CE Mount Vesuvius erupted, burying the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum under huge waves of volcanic ash and debris. Explore one of history's most famous natural disasters in this exhibition at the WA Maritime Museum from 22 September - 4 February.
Celebrate Boating! The Club Marine Perth International Boat Show is the major boating event in Western Australia that will run over four days from 22 - 25 September. Held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre and Elizabeth Quay, the Show will take full advantage of the stunning Swan River location.

There will be a bevy of gushing sighs around Fremantle Markets' Baby Animal Farm in the Market Lane every Saturday from 9am - 11am during the school holidays. Nine eclectic artists from across Australia make Perth’s inner city precinct Cathedral Square home for 12 days from 26 September – 7 October for the fifth installation of Proximity Festival. Audiences can experience three separate programs of 20-minute performances across private and public spaces in the Perth Town Hall, The State Buildings, St Georges Cathedral and surrounds, each offering unique and intimate encounters.
Fremantle Prison is WA's only World Heritage listed building and one of the State's premier tourist attractions. So why not take the kids these school holidays? They are guaranteed to have fun while learning about this amazing site. Tours will be running on Tuesday and Thursdays during the September school holidays.
